Do I need an invoicing provider to use Matheia?

No. Without one, payments still work and the Invoices page still tracks them — you simply issue any legal document yourself.

In encrypted platform storage, catalogued per student. There is nothing to connect and no external drive to manage.

Can I connect two whiteboard providers?

No, one at a time. Switching provider does not delete boards already created.

Integrations

Matheia connects to outside services so you do not have to keep two systems in step by hand. Every integration is optional and lives in Settings.

Google Calendar

Connect your Google Calendar to automatically sync events. Go to Settings, find the Google Calendar section, and click "Connect." You will be redirected to Google to authorize access. Once connected, all events you create, update, or cancel in Matheia are reflected in your calendar. By default, events sync to your primary calendar. You can specify a different calendar ID if you use a dedicated calendar for tutoring.

Whiteboard providers

Matheia supports two whiteboard providers: Miro and Typink. To connect one, go to Settings and enter the API token from your whiteboard account. You can optionally set a template board ID — new boards will be created as copies of this template. Once connected, you can create a whiteboard board for any event from its detail page. Only one provider can be active at a time.

Invoicing

Connect an invoicing provider and Matheia issues a real invoice to the student each time one of your sessions is paid for, using your billing details and VAT rate. FakturaXL is the provider currently supported. Without a provider connected, no invoices are issued to students and the Invoices page remains your own internal record.

03Turn on issuing an invoice when a student pays, if you want it to happen automatically.
04Turn on emailing the invoice to the student to have it delivered as well as issued.
05Save. You can disconnect the provider later without losing invoices already issued.

File storage

Files you share — lesson files, task attachments, note attachments — are encrypted and stored by the platform, then catalogued against the student they belong to. You do not configure anything: uploading a file is enough. Students see the files marked visible to them in their portal, organised by tutor and workspace, and an organization's files stay separate from your personal ones. A file you attach to a lesson as staff only is stored the same way but is never catalogued against a student, so it cannot appear in anyone's portal.
